May Festivities
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will continue with its May Festivities this weekend. On Saturday, the XXII City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Open Swimming Trophy will take place, along with a concert by El Kanka at 9:00 pm in the Candelaria square. On Sunday, starting at 8:00 pm, the Tajaraste Festival will be held in the Candelaria square. An hour before, a parade will depart from Weyler square.
Pilgrimages
The weekend is filled with pilgrimages in Tenerife. On Saturday, Fasnia will celebrate the pilgrimage of San Isidro Labrador in Sabina Alta. On Sunday, there will be pilgrimages in Santiago del Teide (Arguayo pilgrimage), Icod de Los Vinos (San Isidro Labrador pilgrimage), Valle de San Lorenzo (pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Fatima), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (pilgrimage of the Virgin of Safe Journey and San Telmo), and Granadilla (pilgrimage in honor of San Isidro Labrador).
Cinema
TEA Tenerife Arts Space will screen Heroic this weekend at 7:00 pm, the second feature film by Mexican director David Zonana. The film, a brave and powerful military drama that explores and denounces violence, machismo, and corruption in Mexico and the institutions supporting it, participated in the Latin Horizons section of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, after being presented at the World Cinema Dramatic Competition of the Sundance Festival 2023 and in the Panorama section of the last edition of the Berlinale.

Tenerife Symphony Orchestra
Tenerife Auditorium presents Abemon: When the Water Sounds this Saturday, a family concert by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra recommended for ages nine and above. This show will blend symphonic music with contemporary dance, which has an inclusive view of bodies and movement, providing creative space and a unique voice to everyone who approaches it.
Mueca Festival
The Mueca Festival will continue this weekend in Puerto de la Cruz with six stages spread across the city. This event brings together people of all ages and offers the opportunity for all audiences to enjoy local, national, and international artistic performances. Basketball
Lenovo Tenerife will conclude their participation in the regular phase of the Endesa League before the title playoffs next week, for which Txus Vidorreta’s team is already qualified.
After being defeated by Joventut de Badalona on Thursday, CB Canarias will return to Santiago Martín Pavilion. This Sunday at 5:30 pm, they will face Baxi Manresa, and the results of this match, as well as the rest of the day, will determine the final playoff matchups.
