The Guardia Court in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, located in Tenerife, has decided to prolong the detention of the football coach from Unión Deportiva Coromoto. This coach was reported by a player’s father for suspected corruption involving minors.
Both the report and the individual under investigation were presented in court on Friday.
The legal proceedings have been deemed confidential, focusing on a potential violation of Article 188 of the penal code.
On Thursday, the sports organisation released a statement on social media explaining that following the complaint, the coach had been dismissed from their position. The club had already completely severed ties with the coach since Monday, May 6th. They stated they are cooperating with the State Security Forces and Authorities to clarify the situation which, they claim, the club members were unaware of until the previous Monday.
