Third RFEF | Tenerife, Promoted from Second RFEF

The Tenerife B team confirmed their promotion to the Second RFEF after drawing on their visit to Unión Sur Yaiza in the penultimate round of the Canary Islands Third Division (1-1). The home team lost the second place and it depends on what their compatriots from Lanzarote do in the last match to secure that position in order to potentially have a better opponent in the promotion playoff. The white and blue team was superior overall throughout the match, dominating their opponent until they managed to take the lead with just over ten minutes left in regulation time.

In the 79th minute, Cacho, in his attempt to penetrate the Yaiza area, was brought down by a local defender, resulting in a penalty. Omar took the 11-meter shot and with a low shot next to the left post, he made it 0-1 on the scoreboard.

With the lead on the scoreboard, Tenerife B stood strong in defense against an attacking Unión Sur Yaiza, who eventually equalized the result with a minute left in regulation time. Emiliano Trovento made it 1-1 with a shot to the far post from the corner of the small area.

In stoppage time, the Lanzarote team pushed for a comeback; however, after a final attempt by Emiliano Trovento on a very high direct free-kick from the edge of the box, the Tenerife team celebrated their promotion after 14 consecutive seasons in the Third Division.
