Authorities in the Canary Islands have apprehended an individual in El Tanque, located in the northern region of Tenerife, suspected of committing a sexual assault against a 44-year-old woman.
The arrest took place following a confrontation that ensued after the alleged assault during a local festival in this municipality of Tenerife.
Officers from the operational response unit of the Canarian Police carried out the arrest. Subsequently, the suspect was transferred to the Civil Guard and is awaiting presentation before the judicial authorities, as confirmed by the regional security department on social media.
