The lady found dead last weekend floating off the coast of Arico in Tenerife was a 66-year-old Belgian national who had gone missing since around the 24th of April.
According to reports from the Civil Guard given to EFE, the body has been identified as that of a missing woman from Adeje municipality, as stated by the newspaper earlier in the week.
The initial autopsy report on the cadaver confirmed that the victim’s death had been violent.
Additionally, the body was found dismembered with a plastic bag over the head, as reported by local media.
The Civil Guard updated on Thursday that the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances and potential culprits of this tragic event.
SOS Missing organisation, which raised the alarm for the woman’s disappearance, described her as 1.65m tall, of average build, with short grey hair and blue eyes.
