SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30th April. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A total of four individuals, including two Civil Guard officers, sustained injuries of varying degrees in a road accident on the TF-4 motorway towards Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as stated by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre of the Canary Islands 112.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon at the location where a truck collided with a Civil Guard vehicle that had just parked on the road to signal and aid the driver of another truck stopped on the shoulder.
Emergency personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived at the scene to assist the two officers. One of them had moderate back and chest injuries initially, while the other officer, aged 46, had multiple moderate contusions without complications.
Both officers were transported by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
In addition, SUC staff attended to the 44-year-old driver of the damaged truck, who initially had moderate chest injuries without complications. He was then taken by ambulance to the Hospiten Rambla University Hospital. The driver of the truck that caused the collision experienced mild anxiety and was transported by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
Tenerife firefighters also arrived at the scene to extract the officers from the vehicle, as they were unable to exit due to the impact. Meanwhile, Local Police officers conducted the necessary investigation.
