Tenerife has several significant dates to hit the streets, but few are as remarkable for the island as Tegueste pilgrimage, honoring San Marcos Evangelista. A gathering not missed by thousands this Sunday, April 28.
The municipality located in the north of Tenerife became the epicentre of local customs and kicked off the calendar of major pilgrimages on the island. Participants of the pilgrimage donned their finest attire, including the Insular Council president, Cabildo, Rosa Dávila. A celebration blending the best of Canarian tradition, with typical island magician costumes alongside outfits from various municipalities.
Tegueste looks as beautiful on this day as its carts, once again taking the spotlight. Elaborately crafted in this municipality, the carts are decked out for the occasion, becoming one of the most frequented spots for those choosing to spend their Sunday there.

A Sunday that, unfortunately, has been overshadowed by rain since early morning in Tegueste. Although it sporadically cleared during the pilgrimage procession, the weather alternated between light drizzles and heavy downpours.

At 16:00 hours, the party will kick off in San Marcos square, a distinguished and central location during these dates and throughout the year. Providing entertainment for the evening will be the orchestras Acapulco, Grupo Latin Sound, and Grupo Relieve.
