Fuerteventura crowned as top-notch tourist destination

Fuerteventura has been acknowledged as the best Tourist Excellence Destination for its resilience, tailored tourist experiences, and innovative and sustainable management at the prestigious Mencey Futuristic Honour Awards granted during the 11th National Forum for Tourism Entrepreneurs and Professionals in Spain, Futurismo 2024, held in Tenerife.

The Tourism Councillor of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Marlene Figueroa, was responsible for receiving the award, pointing out that this recognition does justice to many professionals and workers, to many small companies, and also responds to the commitment of the larger ones, as “they all contribute, day by day, with their work and anonymously, to make Fuerteventura a quality destination“.

Figueroa emphasized to the forum of entrepreneurs that the quality and excellence of a tourist destination are not inherited, nor do they arise by chance but are the result of good planning, strategy, decision-making, action, work, commitment, perseverance, and above all thanks to a process of constant improvement.

Fuerteventura’s nomination was the highest voted in the Tourist Excellence Destination category of the Mencey Awards, with 49.02% of the votes in a tight competition with traditional and well-positioned tourist markets such as Mallorca, Salou, and San Sebastián, which also aspired to the title for their resilience, tailored tourist experiences, and innovative and sustainable management.

However, the jury members leaned towards rewarding the destination of Fuerteventura.
