Tenerife is still full of activities during the weekends, with both public and private initiatives to keep the entertainment going on the island. Traditions, movies, and music for the whole family are the appealing options for the upcoming days to enjoy some hours of entertainment. Here are the plans for this weekend:
May Celebrations
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host various events for its May Celebrations this Saturday. Starting at 10:00, activities to commemorate the World Tai Chi Day will take place at the García Sanabria Park. At 12:00, the Guimerá Theatre will feature the play ‘Cometa’, with an unexpected traveller who invites us to look at our environment with new eyes through her curiosity and discoveries.
In the evening, from 19:00 onwards, the Plaza de la Candelaria will host the Gala for the Selection of the Children’s Magician and Magician of the May Celebrations.
Film
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will be screening the film Ama Gloria this weekend, directed by the French filmmaker Marie Amachoukeli. Premiered at the Critics’ Week of the Cannes Film Festival, the movie offers a sweet portrayal of the relationship between a girl and her nanny. Starring Louise Mauroy-Panzani, Ilça Moreno Zegoy, and Abnara Gomes Varela, the film has travelled extensively to various international festivals and received a Special Mention from the International Jury at the REC Festival in Tarragona. Ama Gloria will be shown in its original French version with Spanish subtitles.

Volunteering
The VII Volunteering Fair of La Laguna will bring together 80 third-sector entities this Saturday, 27th, from 10:00 to 19:00 in Cristo Square. The event aims to showcase the work done by these organizations in areas such as disability, social inclusion and integration, environment, and culture in the municipality, while raising awareness among the population about the important work carried out by these groups.
Pilgrimage
Tegueste will celebrate the LVI Pilgrimage in honour of San Marcos Evangelista this Sunday. The pilgrimage is set to start at 13:00, followed by a verbenain San Marcos Square at 16:00, featuring the orchestras Acapulco, Grupo Latin Sound, and Grupo Relieve.
Music
The singer-songwriter from La Palma, Valeria Castro, will be performing a concert at the Teobaldo Power Auditorium in La Orotava this Sunday. Castro brings her debut album titled ‘Con cariño y con cuidado’ to northern Tenerife. The concert starts at 21:00.
