SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23rd April. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The group ‘Canarias se Agota’ condemned the “disdain” shown by the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, towards all their demands and the condition of the hunger strikers following a meeting at the Government Headquarters.
The activists expressed their disappointment that, despite a meeting taking place after 13 days of hunger strike, all their proposals were rejected. They have now declared their intention to escalate the “pressure” in the coming days.
They reiterated that the President’s stance has been “underwhelming” in response to their efforts to halt the ‘Cuna del Alma’ and La Tejita hotel projects, implement a moratorium on tourism, and establish mandatory workers’ assemblies.
