The Cabildo of Tenerife plans to demolish a deteriorated building near Pico del Inglés, in the Anaga Rural Park, and will subsequently regenerate the land for landscape integration.
The demolition project, requiring an investment of approximately 98,000 euros, is currently in the public domain. Once finalized, it will be open for bids and subsequent execution.
Blanca Pérez, Minister of Natural Environment, Sustainability, and Security and Emergencies, stated in a release that the structures “are in disrepair and abandoned and are connected to the eastern side of the footpath leading from the parking lot on the road to the ‘viewpoint’ building.”
After the completion of the demolition, removal, and waste disposal, the landscape of the affected area will undergo regeneration.
On the other hand, Pedro Millán, the insular director of Medio Natural, highlights that “this is a necessary intervention within the Anaga Rural Park to restore the landscape and ensure people’s safety, given its ruinous state.”
He further explains that the building is derelict and serves no purpose, therefore its demolition is essential for space recovery.
These constructions are situated at the terminus of TF-114 highway and precisely border, on the east side, the footpath leading to the Pico del Inglés viewpoint, covering an area of 348 square meters.
The operations will entail dismantling structural components and removing all constructions or building elements, including sidewalks, edifices, concrete structures, or others, as well as the disassembly of existing pavements, and the collection and transport of resulting materials.
Post-demolition, the land will be contoured to restore its slopes, as much as feasible, to their original conditions.
Furthermore, a topsoil layer will be laid down, with vegetation planted to prevent soil erosion, and if necessary, the TF-PR2 trail will be reinstated.
