A 53-year-old gentleman is currently in critical condition after being resuscitated from cardiorespiratory arrest in La Laguna.
The incident took place at approximately 1:22 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert stating that an individual had collapsed while driving a vehicle at a driving school and required medical assistance.
A doctor from the Canary Island Emergency Service (SUC), present at the scene, upon receiving information from the alert, confirmed that the individual was in cardiorespiratory arrest and provided instructions via telecare to initiate resuscitation procedures.
SUC personnel verified that the individual was still in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued with basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, successfully restoring his pulse.
After stabilization, he was transported in critical condition by medical ambulance to La Candelaria Hospital.
The Civil Guard managed traffic flow on the road and cooperated with other emergency services, while personnel from the Road Maintenance Service marked out the area where the emergency response took place.
