The Arico City Council is bringing about positive changes in the municipality after years of stagnation. One recent example is the announcement of the renovation project for the Abades playground, which will involve the installation of new children’s games and expanded flooring to enhance the current play area.
The plan includes dismantling the existing park, installing a new, larger surface area for the pavement, and introducing new children’s games. This means that Abades will soon boast a new and improved playground.
Situated in the plaza on Avenida Marítima de Abades, the playground was originally constructed in 2013, covering an area of 38 square meters and catering to children aged between 6 and 9 years old.
Enhanced Infrastructure
Currently, the pavement is in poor condition, showing signs of damage and numerous cracks. One of the two existing games is significantly deteriorated and rusty, posing safety risks. The other game is in better condition.
The revamped park will feature continuous rubber flooring, expanding to 80 square meters – more than double the current size. Additionally, new attractions such as a boat-shaped game, a climbing rope structure, and a recreational panel will be added.
The renovation is scheduled to be completed within a month, with a budget of 40,414 euros allocated for the project. This initiative fulfills Mayor Olivia Delgado’s commitment to provide high-quality recreational spaces for the children of Arico, offering a new area for families to enjoy.
