Time for everything and people for everything. The Secundino Delgado Park, in the Salamanca neighborhood, offered more than six hours of family activities this Saturday, with a schedule that included workshops, musical performances, games, and even a section for gastronomy with food trucks. Although the morning coincidence with the Canarias demonstration that paraded through the centre of Santa Cruz was noticeable in the audience turnout, by the afternoon hundreds of residents supported it. The Family Fest, organized by the Central-Ifara District, started at eleven in the morning and lasted until six in the evening, including activities for children such as songs, magic shows, puppets, a dog contest, storytelling, and a musical performance by Ana Obando and Celso Sax.
This is the second event of this kind promoted by the Central District, the previous one being Pisaca Fest. This time, the final concert that exceeded expectations was eliminated and had to be cancelled due to safety measures. The mayor highlighted the celebration of ‘Family Fest’ as “an entertaining and enjoyable proposal suitable for all ages.” “In an iconic space like the Secundino Delgado Park, multiple activities are allowed within the framework of this initiative.”

The councillor of the Central-Ifara District, Purificación Dávila, explained that “our intention – she continued – is for these types of gatherings to be held periodically in all neighbourhoods of the district, to encourage participation and coexistence.” Children’s contests, bubble football, inflatable castles, and a photobooth were also part of the event.
