Speaking to Cadena Ser, Martín has admitted that he “worries” about his high rate of infections that is combined with a low vaccination of the population and the appearance of a new variant, for which he appealed to be a “watchful eye” before the evolution of the pandemic, always “so changeable”.

He said that they are in “full debate” with the Government of the Canary Islands to set measures and those specifically – controls and tests at airports and hotels – were “a good experience.”

Martín has pointed out, however, that now the moment is “very different” because vaccination in the islands is “quite high” but he understands that new measures must be taken that are even supported by hoteliers and agents of the tourism subsector to avoid that “this it can get out of hand. ”

Likewise, it has shown its hope that the new measures will not be appealed before the courts of justice. “That we are all aware of what we are at stake,” he added.
