‘The Red Night’ kicks off its eighth edition from seven o’clock this evening

Rodríguez Lara Square in La Victoria de Acentejo will be the setting for the eighth edition of the great night of Victorieros wines, which will take place from seven o’clock this evening until the early hours. In The Red Night, as the initiative is known, already established as a fixed event in the municipality’s leisure program, ten wineries and five restaurants will offer tapas made with local products.

The participating wineries were selected after last week’s 15th bulk wine competition. A team of tasters evaluated the more than 40 samples provided by residents to analyze their qualities. The best wines from their classification will be tasted at the event that aims to promote the commercialisation of products from the primary sector and support winemakers. The evening will be livened up by Parranda Los Amigos and the Manavi Band group, ensuring music and a good atmosphere.

Juan Antonio García, Mayor of La Victoria de Acentejo, believes that this proposal “comes as a recognition of the way of understanding nature that has always been present in this town and its people. Having a small plot of land to grow your own wine is something that our neighbours have deeply rooted. This event, in a way, helps to enhance that way of life”. The mayor also points out that “it is important to acknowledge the work and effort of those who work the land to maintain the green landscape that characterises our midland area; agricultural work, always exposed to weather conditions, pests, and more, is often somewhat ungrateful, and precisely for this reason, the tenacity of these small landowners acquires even more value”.

The 8th edition of The Red Night will take place from seven in the evening until one in the morning. Wine glasses and tapas can be purchased with tickets that will be available at the ticket office set up at the venue.
