SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11th April – EUROPE PRESS –
The local authorities in Candelaria deactivated the Municipal Emergency Plan early this Thursday morning after the alerts connected to the declared emergency situation were lifted. This decision came after a thorough analysis was conducted during a meeting between the mayor, Mari Brito, council members, local police, and municipal technicians.
The bathing areas were gradually reopened following evaluations of different sections. However, Playa La Viuda remains closed due to the damage to the beach access, which poses a risk to the public. Additionally, the access to Punta Larga beach near the Tenerife Tour, and a portion of Los Guanches Beach, specifically from one of the entrances on La Arena street to Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias, are closed off.
Furthermore, the municipal parking lot in front of the Town Hall and Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias has been opened since early morning. The Paseo de San Blas will remain prohibited for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Municipal technicians have been assessing homes that have been damaged to ensure the safety of residents.
The City Council urges citizens to be responsible and emphasizes the importance of adhering to the given instructions, as well as avoiding areas that could be hazardous.
