A 45-year-old diver tragically passed away on Wednesday afternoon after being rescued from the sea in a state of cardiorespiratory arrest along the coast of Guía de Isora, located in Tenerife.
The distressing incident took place after 4:00 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received a report alerting that a diver in cardiorespiratory arrest was rescued from the water near the Alcalá dock, where resuscitation efforts were underway.
Emergency responders from the SUC and the local health centre verified that the individual was still in cardiorespiratory arrest and despite their advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation attempts, unfortunately, they were unable to revive him, confirming his passing.
The law enforcement agencies mobilized by the Coordinating Center collaborated with other emergency services and carried out necessary procedures following the tragic incident.
