Hidramar Gran Canaria, in the female category, and Cisneros Alter Tenerife, in the male category, were crowned champions of the juvenile category in the Canary Islands. The team from Gran Canaria emerged victorious in the final held this Sunday against Chafiras Santa Cruz with a score of 0-3 (10-25, 20-25, and 23-25), while the Tenerife squad did the same against CV San Roque with a score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, and 25-18).
All the finalist teams have secured their spot in the upcoming Spanish Championship, which will be held at the beginning of next month in Teruel (female) and Móstoles, Madrid (male). A spot that was also secured by Haris after defeating San Roque by 3-1 in the female consolation final.
On the other hand, in the male consolation final, it was Arona Tenerife Sur who claimed the third position by overcoming Grupo Bárymont in their match.
Miguel Gutiérrez, representing Cisneros Alter Tenerife, and Alexia Peña, from Hidramar Gran Canaria, were named the best male and female players, respectively, of the tournament.
The trophy presentation ceremony was attended by Carlos Ester Sánchez (regional deputy of the People’s Party), Roberto Melián (president of the Canarian Volleyball Federation), and José Antonio Miranda (president of CV Cuesta Piedra).
Thus concludes a successful Canary Islands Juvenile Championship that, over three days, took place at the Quico Cabrera Municipal Sports Pavilion in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. The top teams in the category showcased their talents, demonstrating the high level of competition in the islands.
