This Wednesday, a coordination meeting was held at the Tenerife Cabildo involving the National Police, Civil Guard, Local Police, and town councils of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tegueste, and La Laguna. The meeting aimed to devise a shock plan to enhance mobility in the Anaga Rural Park.

The gathering was graced by the Mobility and Natural Environment councillors, Eulalia García and Blanca Pérez, along with the insular director of the Natural Environment, Pedro Millán. Representatives of the National Police, Civil Guard, and Local Police were present, alongside councillors Gladis León from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Norberto Padilla and Julián Rodríguez from Tegueste, and Domingo Galván and Cristina Ledesma from La Laguna.

Eulalia García stressed that although the Cabildo is working diligently to execute the Mobility Plan for the Anaga Rural Park, immediate short-term measures are necessary to alleviate mobility issues affecting the area and its residents.

“Dissuasive measures need to be implemented, with the primary one being the joint efforts of various security forces. Through their presence and regulation of traffic, we aim to ease congestion during peak hours on weekends and even weekdays in the Cruz de Carmen vicinity. The collaboration among all stakeholders is comprehensive, and I am optimistic that we will observe tangible results in the coming weeks,” she remarked.

Blanca Pérez highlighted the identification of critical locations requiring reinforced police presence, the exploration of alternatives and the mobility plan, and the potential collaboration with active tourism and car rental firms to mitigate the area’s impact.
