A 49-year-old woman was apprehended last weekend by officers from the Santa Cruz Municipal Police for refusing to comply and challenging the authorities who were attempting to identify her for distributing food to pigeons at Plaza de San Francisco.
Following her apprehension, a search was conducted, and a monetary fine was issued in relation to the incident.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, under the Strategic Planning, Environmental Sustainability, and Public Services department, has decided to impose a fine of up to 1,500 euros, for the act of feeding pigeons on public thoroughfares, which is deemed a serious violation of the Municipal Ordinance that regulates Animal Protection and Ownership in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
