The port of Los Cristianos, on the island of Tenerife, is expecting a total estimated volume of 27,000 passengers and 7,000 vehicles travelling by sea from La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro to said port during Holy Week.
In the first phase of the Easter Week exodus, which took place between the evening of Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23, a movement of 7,500 passengers and 2,170 vehicles towards El Hierro, La Gomera, and La Palma was recorded, according to the Port Authority of Tenerife, which pointed out that these figures are a “clear indicator of the significant influx experienced by the port infrastructure during this holiday period”.
As for the second exodus operation, it will take place between Maundy Thursday and Good Friday towards the ports of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Santa Cruz de La Palma, and La Estaca in El Hierro, where the embarkation of 19,800 passengers and 4,910 vehicles is planned, according to data provided by the shipping companies operating in the port.
Furthermore, between the first phase and the Easter Week holidays, the transit of 3,800 passengers and 1,300 cargo vehicles on round trips between islands has been anticipated.
In the return operation, a high level of occupancy is expected on the trips taken during this weekend and, to a lesser extent, on Monday, April 1st.
The vessels currently operating in the port of Los Cristianos are the ‘Benchijigua Express’, ‘Bencomo Express’, ‘Volcán de Teno’, ‘Volcán de Taburiente’, and the ‘Volcán de Tirajana’.

Finally, they point out that in addition to the control and security measures carried out by the Port Police during Easter Week, the Local Police of Arona will regulate traffic at the roundabout outside the port of Los Cristianos during the departure and arrival operations of the shipping companies, as well as parking on Avenida la Habana and Calle El Espigón.
