The dawn parade of Holy Week in La Laguna, featuring the Holy Christ of La Laguna accompanied by Our Lady of Sorrows, Saint John the Evangelist and Saint Mary Magdalene, had to be called off due to inclement weather, The Board of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of La Laguna announced.
Specifically, as stated in a communique issued earlier today by the Slavery of Christ of La Laguna on their Facebook page, “When the Governing Board of the Pontifical, Royal and Venerable Slavery of the Holy Christ of La Laguna convened at 3:15 a.m. to assess the various meteorological reports, there was unanimous agreement to halt the dawn procession due to rain and strong winds“.
Moreover, they stated that “Should the weather improve, the transfer of the three images from the Royal Sanctuary to the Holy Cathedral Church will be carried out today at 4:00 p.m.” The Magna procession is scheduled to depart from the La Laguna Cathedral at 5:00 p.m. according to the agenda.
The departure of the processions scheduled for today, as communicated by the Board of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of La Laguna, will be subject to weather conditions.
Lignum Crucis
The Lignum Crucis procession, set for 11:00 a.m. this Friday, has been altered due to the increasing wind in Aguere this morning, and it has been decided that the procession will remain indoors at the church of La Concepción, as confirmed by the Board of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods.
