Tenerife is buzzing with activities over the weekends – especially during this long Easter break – as both public and private sectors are keen on keeping the entertainment scene vibrant on the island. Easter processions, festivals, and family-friendly cinema are some of the exciting options available in the upcoming days for you to enjoy a few hours of entertainment tailored to your liking. Here are the planned activities for this weekend:

Holy Week Celebrations

Fully immersed in Holy Week, the main religious events take place during these festive days, with the spotlight on the processions in Santa Cruz and La Laguna, although similar events will be held in different parts of the island. Guides detailing each event in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna are available here.

Additionally, this Good Friday in Adeje, one of the most anticipated events for the faithful takes place: the performance of The Passion of Christ in the historic centre of the municipality.

Festivals

Good Friday brings La Misa, an electronic music festival featuring DJs Marco Carola, Ilario Alicante, Solardo, Frank Rizardo and Sara de Araujo. Costa Adeje is the chosen venue for this show that merges live sessions, dance, and theatrical performances in a carnival-like atmosphere that immerses attendees in a unique playful experience, with nine hours of vibrant rhythms.

On Saturday, it’s time for MAPPA, the new project by GreenWorld premiering this Easter in Tenerife. The event will take place at the Siam Park amphitheatre and will feature artists like Golfos, East end dubs, Max Dean, Alex Wellmann, and Jackmaster, among others.

TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will be screening Labios sellados (Und der Zukunft zugewandt, 2018) this weekend, directed by Bernd Böhlich. This film, portraying a historical drama set in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR), focuses on the story of the wrongly imprisoned communist Antonia Berger, who gets a chance to start a new life. The movie will be shown in its original German version with Spanish subtitles from Friday to Sunday at 7:00 pm.
