Today's Procession Schedule and Itinerary in Tenerife

The island of Tenerife is immersed in the Easter processions.

In all the parishes of the island, special events are taking place during this week, one of the most important in the Catholic religion, commemorating the death and subsequent resurrection of Christ.

Thousands of worshippers are flocking to parishes, hermitages, and churches these days to enjoy some of the most solemn ceremonies of Catholicism. Here are some of those taking place this Holy Wednesday in Tenerife.

La Laguna

Parish of San Benito Abad

At 18:30, Eucharistic celebration with the blessing of the habits of the new members of the brotherhood. Next, procession of the Veronica and the Holy Face accompanied by the Brotherhood of the Holy Face.

Santa Iglesia Catedral

At 19:00, Eucharistic celebration in honor of Our Father Jesus Nazarene and Our Lady of Solitude with the blessing of the habits of the new members of the brotherhood. At the end, procession of the Sacred Images accompanied by the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene and Our Lady of Solitude; and of the Ecce Homo (Lord of the Cañita) accompanied by the Very Ancient and Venerable Brotherhood of the Blood of Christ and the Holy Cross.

Santa Cruz

Nazarene Procession

From the Ermita de la Candelaria in the Salud neighbourhood, at 19:00, to walk through the streets Camino de la Ermita, Guanichemar, Zebenzui, Hero, and Avenida Venezuela, ending at the Parish of Our Lady of Health.

Encounter Procession

Three steps will depart at 20:30 from the Parroquia Matriz de la Concepción (Jesus of Nazareth) and the Parish of San Francisco de Asís (Virgin of Bitterness and Saint John the Evangelist) to meet at the Plaza del Príncipe.

Nazarene Route: Sto. Domingo, Cruz Verde, Castillo, Valentín Sanz, Plaza del Príncipe.
Route of the Virgin of Bitterness and Saint John: Villalba Hervás, San Francisco (turn at the sculpture of D. José Murphy), Ruiz de Padrón, San Juan Bautista, Emilio Calzadilla, and Plaza del Príncipe.
