The DANA affecting the Canaries has left another unprecedented situation for the Archipelago: the Islands are the region of Spain with the most recorded rainfall, specifically during the early hours of this Sunday.
According to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the five stations that have recorded the most precipitation since midnight are in La Palma: Tijarafe, Puntagorda, Fuencaliente, Roque de los Muchachos, and El Paso, on the island of La Palma.
In Tijarafe, 21.6 litres per square metre have been collected until seven in the morning, in Puntagorda 14.4 litres until eight, in Roque de los Muchachos 11 litres until half past eight, and in El Paso 7.4 litres until the same time.
Although La Palma has borne the brunt of the DANA so far this Sunday, there are other locations in the Archipelago where rainfall has been significant, according to Aemet data.
Thus, there have been significant precipitation in San Juan de la Rambla (Tenerife), where seven litres were measured, in the Cañadas del Teide (Tenerife), with six litres, in San Andrés y Sauces (La Palma), with 5.4 litres, in Pájara (Fuerteventura) with 4.2 litres, and in Hermigua (La Gomera) with 3.6 litres.
