The initial heavy rainfall caused by DANA in the Canary Islands, combined with the timing, is leading to significant traffic congestion on the TF-5 motorway. This is unfortunately a common occurrence on Fridays, but today the traffic is completely gridlocked.
Both in the northbound and Santa Cruz-bound directions, the traffic jams are highly significant, starting from the exit of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and extending to the entrance. Furthermore, the congestion is stretching from the capital city to Tenerife North airport.
Drivers in the area are urged to exercise extreme caution.
