SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22nd March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister responsible for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, declared today, Friday, that the gathering of the Bilateral Commission focusing on the divergences between both administrations regarding coastal planning and management will happen “in the near future.”
“The meeting will be arranged promptly,” stated the minister to the press, expressing his hopes for a prompt scheduling. He elaborated that the details, including the date and location, will be determined in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands.
On the other hand, the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, views Ángel Víctor Torres’ announcement as “encouraging” as he believes that governments “must persist in their efforts and maintain a dialogue.” He emphasised the complexity of the issue and stressed the urgency for the meeting to occur promptly due to issues of “legal uncertainty and stalled projects.”
