A fire broke out in an apartment in a twelve-storey building in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, resulting in injuries to two individuals on Thursday.
The incident occurred just before 6:45 a.m. when several individuals notified the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands about a fire at a building on Avenida Príncipes de España.
The casualties include a 24-year-old female suffering from severe smoke inhalation and a 25-year-old male, also experiencing moderate smoke inhalation, who were transported by ambulance to La Candelaria Hospital.
SUC personnel also aided several residents on the scene dealing with anxiety crises while firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Consortium tackled the blaze that originated in the living room and ventilated the premises.
The law enforcement services collaborated with other emergency resources.
