Among the technical solutions to solve the traffic collapse that occurs in Los Cristianos, CC indicates the Transport Interchange and, linked to it, the transformation of Chayofita Avenue into a boulevard, with a connection at different levels with the El Mojón entrance road, in such a way that it would be buried and much of the traffic would be alleviated. that that area suffers daily.

Regarding the development of a new link on the highway with Los Cristianos, it states that it should be done “through the existing project to improve the connections on the sea side of the link, which need to be completed with the comprehensive analysis of that connection with respect to other movements, in particular, regarding the need for service roads and the connection with the nucleus of Arona and the Hospital del Sur ».

Other actions

The nationalists’ approach includes existing projects, such as the Master Plan prepared by the Port Authority Regarding the actions to be undertaken in the connection between the Port and the highway and the Los Tarajales beach rehabilitation project, works “that can be carried out in the short term to improve the center of Los Cristianos.”

Canarian Coalition in the Cabildo insists on the need to undertake actions in the Port of Los Cristianos and its surroundings “to allow urban development in that area, facilitating the transition to more sustainable mobility and, in particular, with the use of public transport and the increase and improvement of pedestrian space and non-motorized mobility ”. It also calls for a municipal boost to improve the existing building and enhance urban and commercial resources, with better integration with the coast and development of local commerce.

It was said in 2018

For its part, the municipal government of Arona welcomes this approach of CC “with satisfaction”, “A proposal made by the mayor, José Julián Mena, in 2018 and in which it even began to work hand in hand with the Cabildo de Tenerife in the previous term”, with CC presiding over the Corporation. Mena hopes that «the rest of the political forces will join, so that it becomes a unanimous position that allows maintaining the competitiveness and modernization of Los Cristianos, an especially key change after the last pronouncement of the Parliament of the Canary Islands (sheltering the Port de Fonsalía). Once the scene has changed, the priority must be for the tourist city to take the great leap for the future it deserves ».

The mayor understands that CC repeats a previous approach of the councilman himself, who had requested the undergrounding of Chayofita avenue to almost the South highway, create exits to the TF-1 through El Mojón, generate a boulevard in Chayofita and the construction in this avenue there is a transport interchange that replaces the current preferred stop.
