«La Victoria de Acentejo has a centuries-old winemaking tradition that dates back to the beginning of the 16th century, when the first vines were planted. This durability explains the enormous roots and importance that the wine culture has in this municipality, ”said Victorian mayor Juan Antonio García during the presentation of the guide.
The councilor highlights that “the City Council has been making numerous efforts to maintain and improve our primary sector, in which wine production is defined as strategic for the entire local economy.” With this new tool, he adds, “we try to publicize the tradition, dedication and professionalism behind our wineries, as well as to promote Victorian wine as one of our hallmarks on the island of Tenerife.”
The guide offers general information about grape growing, agricultural landscapes and local wine production, as well as Victorian winemaking history and tradition. The publication is divided into sections that offer detailed aspects related to each producer, their winery, the grape varieties used, the farm where they are grown and other information of interest about their wines, as well as indicating whether they have a guachinche or still life where you can taste them. “Along with the offer of our extraordinary wines, La Victoria de Acentejo offers visitors a complete gastronomic variety in its many restaurants, wineries and guachinches”, he adds.
