San Juan de La Rambla recovers from today the restored municipal wake

Jonay Méndez, councilor for the Works area, explains that “the actions have focused on the demolition of interior partitions to readapt the space, then building the new ones with vibrated concrete blocks.”

Likewise, adds the mayor, the doors and windows have been renewed, using wood on the inside and aluminum on the outside; the toilets have been renovated, “taking into account that they are accessible to people with reduced mobility”, and all the dampness present in the building has been eradicated, “working on repairing its origin and solving the damage caused”. In addition, the office area has been completely rehabilitated “to provide it with greater comfort, while the corpse display area has been equipped with an air conditioning system in accordance with current regulations.”

Mendez points out that “It has been used to review and install new plumbing, sanitation and electricity, in addition to a new paving and painting ». Regarding the exterior, the watertightness of the sidewalk attached to the building has been eradicated and a new access for funeral vehicles has been fitted out.

The works have been a municipal investment of 26,000 euros and after the final touches, the service will be available for use starting today, Tuesday, according to the mayor.

The councilor of the municipality of San Juan de la Rambla states that “the fact of being able to carry out this and other works responds to the reality of having healthy accounts and a good economic policy, which allows us to have economic amounts for neighborhood welfare actions.”
