A control device managing the influx of people and vehicles in the protected natural areas of Tenerife, coordinated by the Island Council, has started operating this weekend and has resulted in various fines for improper parking in the National Park of Teide.
Specifically, owners or lessees of vehicles have been fined for parking in areas for people with reduced mobility, bus stops, and on yellow lines.
In addition, several tourists were asked to move their vehicles from the middle of the road and others who were taking photos on the road margins over the rocks.
The control device is comprised of the local police, Traffic Civil Guard, Canary Islands Police, and Environmental agents, as explained to EFE by the Director of the Natural Environment area of the Island Council of Tenerife, Pedro Millán, and will primarily operate in the Teide National Park, as well as in the rural parks of Anaga and Teno.
