SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 40-year-old individual has tragically lost their life in a house fire on Víctor de Monjuy street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as confirmed by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident took place at noon when the 1-1-2 operations centre received a report of someone throwing objects onto the street from a residence. Consequently, Cecoes promptly mobilised the necessary emergency services.
Personnel from the Tenerife Fire Consortium, a medicalised ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police, National Police, and Civil Protection rushed to the location.
Upon arrival, it was observed that smoke was billowing from inside the house. The firefighters confirmed that the blaze had also spread to common areas of the building. They promptly intervened to extinguish the fire, ventilate the affected property, and a neighbouring one that had been filled with smoke.
National Police officers at the scene endeavoured to rescue an individual caught in the fire. Unfortunately, one of the officers suffered from smoke inhalation and required medical attention from the SUC ambulance team, who then transported her to a medical facility.
Despite the efforts of the SUC medical staff in treating the affected individual, they could not revive the victim. Local Police and Civil Protection provided vital support to the emergency response teams, while the National Police initiated necessary procedures.
