The El Rosario City Council has awarded the installation of recharging points for electric vehicles in El Rosario, which will allow for the creation of 29 new facilities in 17 different locations, spread throughout the municipality. The contract has been awarded to the company Canaria Eléctrica de EERR y Movilidad S.L. –EAVE for 297,266 Euros, subsidized by 70% by the Moves III Plan for Incentives for Efficient and Sustainable Mobility from the Government of the Canary Islands, the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and Next Generation EU Recovery Fund.
The mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, details that “these new facilities are another example of this Government’s clear commitment to promoting clean energy and energy efficiency”. Gil emphasizes that “we must provide the necessary services to the citizens so that, together, we contribute to increasing the use of electric or hybrid vehicles and combat greenhouse gas emissions to fight climate change at the local level”.
Over the next few months, the new charging points will be put into operation, making the municipality the one with the highest implementation of this type of technology on the island of Tenerife by hosting 32 points, adding the 29 new ones to the three already existing at the Agricultural Market and the Guadamojete Park, located on Juan Sebastián Elcano Street in Radazul.
The Councilor for Ecological Transition, Fidel Vázquez, details that the 29 new charging points will be distributed in 17 locations, twelve will have the capacity to recharge two vehicles and five for one vehicle. Additionally, all of them will be semi-fast or fast chargers and two of them, located in front of the Casa de la Cultura in La Esperanza, and in front of the Leticia Batistas Sports Pavilion in El Chorrillo, will have a photovoltaic canopy to generate their own electrical energy.
The remaining locations for the charging points are: Amílcar González street; La Sardinera street, in front of the Post Office; Francisco Rodríguez Machado street, in front of the CEO Leoncio Rodríguez and the La Esperanza sports center; San Isidro church square; Atlántico avenue in Costanera; Marítima avenue in Tabaiba Baja; Colón avenue in Radazul Bajo; Llano del Moro square; Doctor Caldera street, in front of the Lomo Pelado sports center; Preventorio street, in front of the María Reyes Sports Center, La Comadre; next to the Machado Primary School; in front of the El Rosario City Hall, and next to the Llano Blanco Tax Office.

In addition to these locations, four charging points will be added inside the two municipal warehouses that serve the vehicles assigned to the Mobile Park area of the El Rosario Council. The new chargers will be similar to those installed in front of the Guadamojete park, made of high-performance steel and glass and equipped with one or two high-tech charging points. The pedestals with double chargers will allow for the equitable distribution of energy between the two vehicles, dynamically adjusting the charger’s energy demand based on the real-time available power. Likewise, all parking spaces designated for electric or hybrid vehicle charging will be signposted.
