Santiago Pérez, a Constitutional Law professor at the University of La Laguna, lawyer, and former secretary general of the Tenerife Socialists, has been appointed as the head of the PSOE Ethics and Guarantees Committee of Tenerife. This decision was made by its members in a meeting held this afternoon in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Well-known for his extensive political and academic career, characterised by a strict adherence to legality and the fight against corruption, he will be the highest authority of the party body responsible for enforcing its statutes and regulations, as well as the ethical code, with all guarantees.
Santiago Pérez’s appointment to this committee was a proposal put forward by the secretary general of the PSOE Tenerife, Pedro Martín, at the last Insular Committee meeting, where it was approved. The presidency was agreed upon by its members this afternoon.

Pérez (La Laguna, 1954) has held various leadership positions, including being a member of the Canary Islands Parliament, senator, and councillor of the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council. He also served as the Director General of Autonomous Development in the Government of the Canary Islands and Vice President of the Tenerife Island Council.
