SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14th March (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tenerife Cabildo hosted the unveiling of the job fair ‘Talent Attraction’ on Thursday. The event is set to take place at the Fairgrounds on the 21st of March, welcoming over 60 companies and 1,000 participants. The fair is being organised by the insular Corporation, in collaboration with the Canarian Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), and the Red Cross.

The launch of this initiative, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., was led by the Minister of Employment and Education, Efraín Medina; the Minister of Youth and Training, Serafín Mesa; the Minister of Industry and president of the Board of Directors of the Tenerife Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernández, as well as the president of the Red Cross in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Heliodoro González.

Efraín Medina expressed gratitude to the Red Cross for their effort in organising the event and emphasised the significance of the initiative as “fundamental for reaching out to those actively seeking employment.” He highlighted that more than 1,900 individuals have registered, along with a total of 60 companies and 15 entities related to employment. This demonstrates the importance of an event that aligns with the Cabildo’s vision of adopting a comprehensive policy that works across all areas to stimulate job creation.

Manuel Fernández underscored the value of hosting such initiatives and asserted that the Tenerife Fairgrounds are fully committed to training and employment, which he believes lays the groundwork for establishing individual stability. He remarked, “We are dedicated to offering resources to Tenerife’s productive sectors, such as this facility, as the most impactful social policy that a public administration can implement is to equip productive sectors with the tools to create employment.”

Serafín Medina, the Minister of Youth and Training, mentioned that the department will be involved in the fair through the ‘Ponos’ project. He described employment policies as transformative and therefore positioned this employment fair as one of the most notable events in the Canary Islands. Medina encouraged young people and students who are completing their training this year to register and participate in the fair to explore the employment opportunities that can aid them in their career advancement.

Heliodoro González, the president of the Red Cross in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, expressed appreciation to the Cabildo for their trust and stressed that events like this are crucial to familiarise the public with the essential tools needed to conduct a successful job search process. He contended, “The true stars will be the attendees and the business community of Tenerife who have responded positively from the outset.”

EXHIBITION AREAS

The fair will feature a section dedicated to career counselling, enabling attendees to receive guidance from professionals on various aspects including personal presentation, creating a ‘Video CV’, developing a professional portfolio, and tips for recruitment processes, talent management, and entrepreneurship. Moreover, a zone will be designated for companies, associations, and entities to engage with the participants. Also, presentations by the Red Cross Multichannel Service, psychologist Marisol Bardón, Gloria Díaz, Ashotel, and Renzzo El Selector will take place in the event hall of the Fairgrounds.

The event will adopt a ‘showroom’ or fair-like format to facilitate interaction between entrepreneurs and enterprises, fostering engagement, participation, and collaboration among different stakeholders. Furthermore, the primary objectives include offering insights into the local job market, promoting access to job opportunities, and facilitating direct applications with companies across various sectors.
