SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, revealed on Thursday that the council plans to initiate the southern railway project with the San Isidro-Adeje section, estimated to cost almost 800 million euros.
This announcement was made during a press conference in the company of the Minister of the Presidency, Administration and Public Service, Territorial Planning and Historical Heritage, José Miguel Ruano, stressing that the development of the island’s railway is a “necessary goal.”
Dávila pointed out that technical projects need to be updated following four years of “inactivity” under the PSOE-CS Government, along with the expiration of the environmental impact declaration and the necessary modifications to the Tenerife Island Planning Plan (PIOT), a process expected to take at least a year.
Should the project secure the required financing and receive technical and legal approval, the construction works are anticipated to span around four years.
