Finding a rental property in Tenerife can be an almost impossible task. And when we do find a property that suits our needs, most of the time what doesn’t align is the rent within our budget. Rental prices are sky-high at a time when real estate buying opportunities are not much better.
Many times, property listings for sale can show us two things: a property with many years of history at a not-so-attractive price. But if it aligns with our aspirations, we must consider that for a mortgage, we need to provide at least 20% of the property value in capital plus notary fees and other expenses.
Another option, perhaps the ideal one, is to buy a new construction property, but the opportunities are scarce because house construction has declined significantly in recent years. So, when someone learns about a new housing development, they should almost certainly go for it because there will definitely be a high demand from interested parties.
