The latest edition of the Guía de Isora Mountain Race saw Yeray Bautista and Yannick Navarro emerge victorious in the main event, in a day of intense challenges where the essence of mountain running was truly felt. Guía de Isora provided a tough test for all participants, whether they were tackling the explosive 10-kilometer course, the Half Marathon, or the demanding long-distance race spanning 32 kilometers with over 2,000 meters of elevation gain.

Unlike previous editions where scorching heat played a decisive role for many runners, this year’s race featured more pleasant weather conditions. Organized by the Guía de Isora City Council Sports Department and the Canaryrun club, the event attracted hundreds of courageous runners who embraced the daunting task of conquering the steep inclines of the course, including the challenging Tágara Climb.

The competition for top positions was intense, with Yeray Bautista proving to be the fastest and most resilient athlete in the 32-kilometer race, maintaining an impressive average pace of 6:22 minutes per kilometer and crossing the finish line first with a final time of 3h:23:51. Bautista led the race at Tágara and held onto his position at El Jaral, where Jacob Medina, the eventual second-place finisher, managed to narrow the gap. However, Medina was unable to complete the comeback, finishing 1:26 minutes behind Bautista. Juan Antonio González secured the third spot with a time of 3h:43:48, while French runner Yannick Navarro claimed victory in the women’s category with a time of 5h:56.08.

In the men’s Half Marathon, Eloy Ramos emerged as the fastest participant with a time of 2h:12:40, showcasing his strength from the start. Ramos led the race, with Yacomar García and Nicolás Rodríguez trailing behind until the 6.5-kilometer mark at El Jaral. Ramos maintained his lead, leaving Iker Requerey and Sergio García to clinch the second and third positions, respectively. Ramos finished with a comfortable ten-minute lead over Requerey (2h:22:40), while Sergio García secured third place with a time of 2h:23:27.

Silvia Luis dominated the women’s Half Marathon category with a time of 3h:11:31, surpassing Daura García (3h:14:32) after a closely contested battle in the initial kilometers. Teresa Miguel secured the third spot with a time of 3h:21:27. In the mixed category, the duo of Antonio Risquez and Leila Pérez claimed victory with a time of 3h:54:25.

Antonio Martín emerged victorious in the explosive 10-kilometer race with a time of 1h:00:57, engaging in a thrilling battle with Jorge Hernández, who finished second (1h:01:41), and David Rodríguez (1h:01:42). Hernández took the lead in the first half of the race, arriving at El Jaral with a one-minute advantage over Martín and 45 seconds ahead of David Rodríguez. However, Martín pushed through in the latter part of the course, securing his victory and leaving Rodríguez and Hernández to vie for the second position, ultimately decided by a split-second difference.

Ane Ormaetxea claimed the top spot in the women’s 10k event with a time of 1h:19:38, showing a strong performance ahead of Inmaculada Bejarano (1:22:02) and Hungarian runner Kinga Zolyomi (1h:25:52).
