The Council of Canary Islands Government has named Juana de la Rosa González as the new General Director of Child and Family Protection, replacing Sandra Rodríguez, who resigned last Thursday after being convicted of misconduct.
Juana de la Rosa González has served as the Insular Director of Volunteering and Social Inclusion Promotion at Tenerife Island Council from 2017 to 2019 and as a councilor for the island corporation by CC from 2019 to 2023.

She holds a degree in Primary Education Teaching from the Complutense University of Madrid and in Training and Updating in School Management from the Autonomous University of Madrid, as announced by the government.
She has worked as an educator for 32 years in Madrid and Tenerife, and her teaching career includes the implementation of an anti-bullying project as a mediator teacher, both inside and outside the classrooms.
She has also carried out volunteer work in Burgos and Calcutta.
