The Adeje Comprehensive Pet Shelter Centre continues its dedicated efforts to provide care and find loving homes for homeless dogs that have faced adversity.
The Adejero City Council highlights that individuals interested in supporting these animals can contribute by volunteering or opting to adopt a dog. The shelter, which can accommodate up to 35 dogs, offers personalised spaces and is regularly visited by veterinary professionals who oversee the necessary treatments.
Those looking to adopt a dog must follow certain procedures. Initially, one must visit the centre (restricted to a maximum of two people) to interact with the dog of interest. Subsequently, an adoption application and assessment questionnaire need to be completed. Following a brief waiting period, applicants will be notified of the status of their application. If approved, they will be required to pay the adoption fees and sign an adoption contract. All adopted dogs are provided with identification, vaccinations, and sterilisation, unless advised otherwise by the vet. It is mandatory to register the dog at the local Town Hall.
