The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has made significant progress in its commitment to transparency by achieving a 52.7 percent compliance with Law 19/2019 of December 9, on Transparency, Access to Public Information, and Good Governance (LTAIBG).

These figures are the result of the report carried out in 2023 by the Transparency and Good Governance Council, an independent body responsible for promoting transparency in public activity, ensuring compliance with disclosure obligations, and safeguarding, among other obligations, the right of access to public information.

Specifically, it is in its “Assessment Report on Compliance with Active Advertising Obligations” for 2023 where Ports of Tenerife significantly improved in the goal of providing clear and accessible information on what is known as “Mandatory Information”, which includes legal, economic, budgetary, statistical, and even institutional information.

Ports of Tenerife have taken a remarkable step forward, moving from a compliance rate of 19.5 percent in 2021 to 52.7 percent in 2023, progress that is the result of implementing several pending recommendations, demonstrating the Port Authority’s commitment to continuous improvement and transparency in its management.

The Transparency, Access to Public Information, and Good Governance Law aims to increase transparency in public activity, recognize and ensure access to information, and establish the good governance obligations that public officials must fulfill, as well as the legal consequences of failure to comply.

It is worth noting that the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has a dedicated portal on its website where all this data is available, in a portal that was also a pioneer in inclusive technology, guaranteeing access to information for people with visual impairment, dyslexia, color blindness, cognitive disabilities, and mobility issues.

The progress made by the Port Authority not only responds to compliance with its legal duties, but also significantly contributes to strengthening trust and relationships with the community, establishing itself as a more transparent and collaborative administration.
