As a result of the high winds expected, the alert for coastal phenomena, the anticipation of adverse weather conditions, and the projected large attendance in Candelaria today (exceeding 2,000 individuals due to participating groups), the City Council has taken the precautionary measure of suspending the scheduled events for this Saturday, February 24. Consequently, the Coso parade, the Murgas Encounter, and the Coso Ball have all been cancelled.
For the planned events on Sunday, February 25, a decision will be made by the council later in the day after assessing the prevailing conditions.
