For the first time, Arona will promote its tourist attractions at the International Tourism Fair of Navarra (Navartour), which celebrates its 18th edition at the Baluarte Congress Palace (Pamplona) from today until Sunday. This is one of the most important forums for the travel industry in the north of Spain and focuses primarily on active, sustainable, and nature tourism, as well as gastronomic, heritage, health, and beach tourism.

Dácil León, Tourism Councillor of Arona, emphasizes that “the multidestination holiday in Arona fits with all these tourism segments and, moreover, enjoys a favourable position in the Navarrese and Northern markets, as while their thermometers range between 1 and 10 degrees at this time, our municipality guarantees an average temperature of 23 degrees throughout the year.”

The participation of the Arona Tourism Board at the Navarrese tourism fair responds to the changes being incorporated into the promotion of this destination, “so that our municipality is visible again at all the main tourism fairs and events, as well as to consolidate our position as a top holiday destination,” she states.

The councillor highlights “the renewed and modern image being imparted to the Arona brand,” as well as actions to enhance strengths such as sustainability and nature.

During the current year, Arona will also be present at the B-Travel fair in Barcelona, and ExpoVacaciones in Bilbao. At the same time, it will continue to focus on ITB in Berlin and WTM in London. All this, while other interesting options for this destination are still being considered.

The balance is positive, in terms of tourist influx and occupancy rates in hotel and non-hotel establishments, but “this is a highly changing sector, with strong competing destinations, and it depends on us to promote awareness of our strengths in the most relevant markets for Arona emitters.” Among the challenges, she points to the effort to generate interest among those who choose Arona as a destination, “valuing our commercial, gastronomic, leisure, and nature offerings so that they enjoy a more complete experience and act as ambassadors for the municipality.”
