Authorities from the Santa Cruz deTenerife Local Police detained a 65-year-old man identified as L.D.P.R on Tuesday, following a report from a 14-year-old boy about the behavior of the arrested individual. According to the report, the detainee repeatedly proposed sexual favors to the boy in exchange for various amounts of money.
The report reached the Local Police from the Coordination Center for Emergencies of theGovernment of the Canary Islands 1-1-2, and various patrols were mobilized to locate the arrested individual. With the physical description and clothing of the man, he was intercepted in the final stretch of the Princes of Spain Avenue in Ofra.
Once identified, the city police officers informed the minor’s mother about the events, with the aim of filing the appropriate complaint. It was also verified that this was not the first occasion on which L.D.P.R. had engaged in such actions.
Subsequently, the officers took the detained individual to the police station and carried out the necessary procedures for the man to be made available to the relevant judicial authority. Consultation was also made with the specialized unit of the National Police regarding such matters, reporting a possible offense of child corruption. It seems that the arrested individual already had a criminal record in this area.
