The Tacoronte Town Hall has processed a file of compulsory execution in order to proceed to the demolition of a two-story building, located in the upper part of the coastal neighborhood of El Pris, since its current state represents an imminent risk for passers-by and for other buildings in the environment.

The mayor, José Daniel Díaz, who visited the area accompanied by the Councilor for Trades Personnel, Antonio Gil Goya, and several municipal technicians to check the state of this house, which has numerous damages, pointed out the need to proceed with its demolition, since They were even able to observe that some of its pillars have already collapsed.

The first municipal president has signed this week the decree that will allow the execution of the demolition works of the property, whose withdrawal has represented a historical demand in this coastal nucleus.

Carrying out the work has also required the drafting of a project whose completion will cost more than 29,000 euros, due to the difficulty that the demolition and debris removal work will have, since the house is located on the cliff. and in an area of ​​narrow streets that prevent the use of heavy machinery.

Díaz indicated that this has been a very complex file, which has been prolonged in time and in which multiple requirements have been formulated to the community of owners of the same, with an added complexity when notifying each of its members , since it is a hereditary company, which has not responded to these requirements and whose response deadline has been met at the end of October without having stated that they would be in charge of carrying out the work.

The highest municipal official indicated that “we are going to act urgently, not only due to the absence of responses, but because the planned action coincides with the breaking of a pillar.”

In this sense, Díaz Armas pointed out that once the execution of the work has been determined and its cost quantified, the owners are responsible for assuming the cost of its demolition. He specified that, otherwise, the property would become public property, assuming the City Council as compensation.

The mayor has expressed his satisfaction because “finally we are going to solve a problem that had been prolonged excessively in time for decades, and that represented a permanent fear in this population, which has been suffering not only from the lack of interest and commitment from their owners, but also of the previous municipal leaders who did not put a solution “.
