Franko, the hairdresser from Tenerife who brought the styling of major fashion shows to the island, has passed away at the age of 61. While his business in the heart of Santa Cruz closed a few years ago, the professional, who trained in cities like Barcelona, made a name for himself in the world of modelling.
In fact, it has been key figures in the fashion industry in Canary Islands who have announced the passing of the man everyone knows as Franko the hairdresser.
Through social media, personalities like Efraín Medina, councillor of Tenerife Island Council, or the designers Marcos and María, have expressed their sadness at the loss of the styling professional.

A regular at Tenerife Fashion shows and events such as Feboda or Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, Franko knew how to bring styling trends in fashion to the island and highlighted his role as an integral part of the community, alongside other professionals like Tony Cañadas or Alberto Dugarte, to which Juan Castañeda is now added.
“Your generosity and respect were your life motto,” say designers Marcos and María in a post on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of Franko collaborating on one of their creations.
The stylist Tony Cañadas also turned to his social media to pay tribute to his professional companion with a picture from a professional championship many years ago where they worked together: “Fly high, my friend,” writes the hairdresser.
