On the night of Piñata Friday, various security and emergency services provided assistance to a total of 45 individuals, with no significant incidents reported. The celebrations were characterized by calm and lower attendance compared to previous occasions.

As reported by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the majority of cases requiring attention were related to alcohol poisoning, accounting for 42.2% of the total. Among those treated, 34 were adults and 11 were minors, while 28 were men and 17 were women.

Alcohol poisoning cases reached 19, with 10 adults and nine minors affected by excessive alcohol consumption. There were 11 cases of accidents from trauma and falls, and six incidents categorized as attacks. Additionally, eight people required medical care for common illnesses.

Nine individuals had to be transferred to hospital centres for further diagnostic tests or specialized care.

As part of the preventive and health measures for the youth, managed by the Spanish Red Cross in coordination with the Local Police unit attached to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, data of 10 minors between 15 and 17 years old (five girls and five boys) were recorded and analysed.

In the area of Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena, Local Police agents apprehended a man involved in the theft of several mobile phone devices. The Local Police also conducted regular checkpoints throughout the Carnival Quadrilateral, and in the early hours of the morning, they enforced the closure of musical activities, kiosks, and venues.

At the Violet Point located in the Carnival Hospital, professionals conducted four awareness actions with nursing staff and provided treatment to a minor for a possible case of domestic violence.

During the night, the Local Police, National Police, Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, Santa Cruz Civil Protection volunteer group, and health personnel of the Spanish Red Cross worked together, coordinated from the Advanced Command Post (PMA) situated in the Carnival Hospital in General Gutiérrez Mellado square in the capital of Tenerife.

Information on the operations conducted during the previous night, with the hashtag #HospitalCarnavalSC, was shared through the municipal Twitter accounts of the Municipal Administration Operational Coordination Center (Cecopal) @CECOPALSC, the capital’s Local Police @PoliciaLocalSC, and the Civil Protection volunteers @ProteCivilSCTF.
