On Feb. 15, in SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, the Tenerife Cabildo passed a budget modification during the Government Council session. This modification involves the island Institution’s contribution of 36.6 million euros towards the dependency agreement, in addition to the 87.7 million provided by the Government of the Canary Islands.
This funding will benefit both directly and indirectly managed centres, with the details outlined in this V addendum to the dependency agreement already communicated to them. Furthermore, it has a retroactive effect from January 2023, enhancing the financing for each place offered.
“This initiative will have a significantly positive impact on the 76 service-providing entities in Tenerife, with whom we currently collaborate, including city councils, commercial entities, and non-profit entities,” explained Águeda Fumero, the Minister of Social Action.
The agreed increases aim to stabilize and enhance the provision of services for older people and individuals with disabilities within the resource network on the island of Tenerife. Currently, this network involves the financing of 7,599 places.
The modifications introduced in Addendum V, concerning the price per place and day, generally entail a 10 to 30% increase, depending on the services provided.
